I have already failed to keep my self improvement New Year's Resolutions to 1. eat better 2. drink less 3. exercise more! But every Monday I start over.... The sun came out again today and I decided to tweek my Resolutions to include my home and I know I can do this!
Before COVID changed how we work I was planning on doing a good Spring Cleaning last year to finally clear out, clean up and organize. Once I brought my Office home I have just made it worse - stapler on the dining room table - piles of paperwork on my end table! I am done with the mess - It is Monday and I am re-focused on my Home and to give me a little motivation boost I am revamping my New Year Resolutions.
Here is my plan to not only declutter but to create spaces to help me keep my home organized:
- To make this achievable I highly recommend you tackle only one room and/or closet at a time!
- Use super affordable laundry baskets to sort and still be able to store away while you organize.
- Label each basket ie DONATE - SELL - TOSS - ORGANIZE...etc.
Once you have pre-sorted your clutter you can organize and finally take control of your work and home life and still have a beautiful home you and your family deserves.
To manage and prevent the clutter from taking over again, I am going to add extra shelving in my closets and reuse and label the many antibacterial plastic boxes with lids that I have been keeping to store and organize medicines, bandaids, make-up etc.
Whatever you decide for your At Home New Year Resolution it is always a good idea to include fun projects for the kids and include their rooms and the yard too. Wishing You A Happy & Healthy 2021!
